|So, I'm looking at switching guilds at the moment and due to truncation problems I've decided to place the full answer to the questions here so there is a post with the answers in one piece, not split up over multiple comments as I've needed to do!|

I got the beta invite on one of the recent rounds - the following are a few pieces from it, with bits on the changes to shadow priests.

According to the cats, it's my fault it's raining & windy outside. And they'd quite like tuna by way of compensation.
.... have your humans been mean to you ?
.... have they dangled string so you can never get it ?
Then perhaps Mean Human lawyers 4 you can help you get the tuna you deserve!

|Dear body; its the weekend. That means you don't have to wake me up at 6am
|For some reason today I've been craving proper french baguettes. Perferably with decent cheese like a nice strong cheddar or brie. Which then leads onto soft white bread, toasted, with marmite on it.|
.... none of which I've found a suitable replacement for.
Current Mood: annoyed
Dear October, July called & wants you to stop masquerading as it
Need a new VM, as long as it's a modern Unix I don't mind the OS. Any one have any suggestions / experiences ?
It'll mainly be a web server (php, ick), news server & mail server.
I have just had some lovely gluten free pizza from a place ~2 mins from Tufnell Park tube, which just happens to be on my commute home....
Been a long time since I've had good pizza.
.... and now Spoon is taunting me with a "I may not know right away how to use a cat flap, but at least I know how to sleep!"
Darn pesky insomnia
|We had a catflap installed on Friday & we've started to let the cats out - which they've been rather happy with.|
I opened up the cat flap & then went outside. Smokey soon worked things out, but Spoon, bless him, isn't the sharpest of cats!

Having problems waking up ?
The new Cat Fight alarm clock could be for you!
With a screeching noise it'll wake you up from the deepest of sleeps!
As you try to turn it off it'll actively move away from you!
Random chance for the breakage of fragile items, furniture over turned and similar included at no extra cost!
The Cat Fight alarm clock has a snooze function which is only activated once you are fully awake so that the annoyance of seeing the units soundly sleeping will keep you awake!
The Cat Fight alarm clock comprises of at least two independent feline units who require individual power and works best with Tuned Uniform Natural Accurate supplies (aka T.U.N.A).
As an added bonus the Cat Fight alarm units have a cuteness function to charm you into submission when it goes off on at 6am on a Sunday morning when you really didn't want it to!
It's somewhat amusing that my commute now means that I get off at a stop I always used to think "I wonder who uses this rather nice station" when going through it using the Thameslink from Brighton to KingsX ~15 years ago - City Thameslink never being open on the weekends.
That it was 15 years ago when I moved from Southampton to Cambridge is somewhat scary!
The cats seem to approve of the new sofa...

Urgle, pollen count is really high this morning - sneezing fits when you're already on the strongest anti-histamine tablets you can have prescribed aren't fun. I think they're roughly equivalent to 18 of the over the counter pills which are supposed to last 24 hours.
If this carries on I'll need to get the steroid based nasal spray prescribed - not needed that since I left Cambridge.

|Finally, after much digging up of old stuff; Sipollo is now a professor
Interesting article on the reactors in Japan: http://bravenewclimate.com/2011/03/13/fukushima-simple-explanation/
Edit: a colleague has noted that the reactors were supposed to be decomissioned back in February, but the Japanese government decided that they'd be fine for another decade of use

Current Mood: accomplished
Tomorrow Azeroth shatters.
All of those well known zones which have been the same since release will change. We'll also be saying goodbye to two faction leaders - I think I'll be logging my dwarfs out next to their king tonight.
The change will also bring the new Gnome & Troll start areas along with the new race/class combos. Which means that my gnome 'lock may well turn into a dwarf tomorrow.
Turns out that keyboards don't appreciate peppermint tea in the same way I do!
Thankfully it's a decent keyboard - quick disassembly + drying later and it was fine. Although it was impressive how far the tea had gotten between the plastic layers making up the switch membrane - I'm guessing capillary action there.
